Hervey Bay - Quiet Beauty of Nature

Sadly I only got to spend four days in Hervey Bay as the hostel was fully booked for an event after that. The hostel itself was more of a resort and I enjoyed staying there very much, even though it was quite far from the city centre. It was close to the marina, the beach, the pier and the aquarium. There was also a magnificent botanic garden to spend hours and hours at. I might go back to Hervey Bay when it's whale watching season. I just missed out on that this time around. I also didn't get to visit Faser Island which is supposedly very nice.

Here are some impressions from the hostel. The rooms were little lodges and there were lots of birds around, including a peacock...

The marina was very quiet this time of year...

The beach and especially the very long pier were worth the visit...

I got to pet the turtles at the local aquarium...

The botanic gardens are a lush oasis and you can easily spend hours there exploring. Which I did...

Most days I cooked dinner with my roomies, so there's not much in terms of food I can show you...
